Norris Leads Oscar Piastri in Sao Paulo Practice Session
Lando Norris has outscored his teammate at all of the past five grands prix.
The McLaren driver edged out team-mate and title rival Oscar Piastri for the fastest time in the closing stages of practice at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Norris, who grabbed the title advantage from Piastri by a single point after taking the win in the Mexican Grand Prix two weeks ago, outpaced the Melbourne-born driver by a mere 0.023s.
Earlier in the session, Piastri had been the quickest of the McLaren pair for most of the session before sprint qualifying set to begin at 18:30 GMT.
The Red Bull star, the only other driver in realistic title contention, lying with a 36-point deficit Norris, finished in P17 as his team opted for a different programme.
His teammate the Japanese driver was the only driver to have an incident, albeit lightly, when he spun at corner four soon after starting.
Tsunoda lost control over the track edges before rotating through the gravel trap, and was blessed to avoid just a slight brush of the wall.
Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton also lost it, at the conclusion of the session, rotating twice through the high-speed Mergulho corner before the final bend on to the pit straight.
The veteran finished practice in 19th place, trailing team-mate the Monegasque driver.
The McLaren drivers were well clear of the other competitors, with the German's Sauber P3, over half a second off Piastri's best.
Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso was fourth quickest, with the Sauber of Gabriel Bortoleto in front of the Mercedes of George Russell and Alpine's Pierre Gasly and Williams' Carlos Sainz.
