Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and were later released.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault near the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
